The Hoot software is currently in a friendly beta release form. For that reason, we are not heavily promoting it until collecting enough feedback on its usability.

Hoot software is tested on Intel Pentium 2, Pentium 3, Pentium 4, Core Duo and Core2 Duo hardware. The server portion of Hoot beta software is tested on Windows XP 32-bit so your PC running the application should be running XP

The Hoot client software is tested on symbian & WCE mobile devices, Windows XP 32 & 64-bit, and on Windows Vista 32 & 64-bit. The Hoot client software has also been tested on Debian Linux unstable using wine 0.9.42 for those of you wanting to try a Linux client.
