Installation

ks from the download section of the Hoot website after registering or logging in.

Run the setup file as a user with administrative rights on the computer!

The name of the installer consists of the component name followed by the word "Setup" followed by a string that represents the build number. Official releases will have numbers only in the build string.

For example, an official client release setup file name might look like this: Client_Setup_313.exe.

The server setup installs the client as well.

The server will start automatically the next time you login because a shortcut was added to the "Startup" directory in the "Start/Programs" windows menu. To prevent the server from running automatically, delete the shortcut. To start the server, click the "Start Hoot server" shortcut in the "Start/Programs" menu or double-click the desktop shortcut.
