Configuration

Configuring the server is done using the Hoot Server Control Panel.

There are several ways to start the control panel:

1. Double-click the "Configure Hoot server" desktop link.
2. Click the "Configure Hoot server" link from "Start/Programs/Hoot/server/Configure Hoot server" link.
3. Left-clicking the server tray icon in the system tray area.

Server Name

• Set the server name. By default it is the machine's name.
  Very important too see you do not get an error message after setting the server name (you must be connected to the internet to select server name).
  Server names are unique and saved by us, it allows us to re-direct you to your server without you having to know your IP every time it changes.
• Set the password for the server. Pressing the "Change Password" button will open a dialog, type the same password in the "New Password" and "Retype Password" input lines and press the OK button. Password is 0 to 10 characters long.

Server Control

• Press the stop button to stop the server.
• Press the Start/Restart buttons to start the server if it was not running or restart it if the server was running.
• Press the "Auto Find" button to search your computer for known applications(See Game List for Supported games).

You can stop and restart the server right-clicking the server system tray icon.

Versions

• Press the About button to open the about dialog for version and build information.
• Press the Check For Update button to open your default browser in the download page of the Hoot website to see if a newer version is available.
